Frequently Asked Questions
What can I expect from the weather and altitude in Colorado?
Colorado weather can be unpredictable. While we enjoy 300 days of sunshine a year, sudden snow/rain storms are not uncommon and the temperature can vary greatly. We recommend dressing in layers based on the season. Shoes should be comfortable to walk in on uneven terrain for extended periods (such as hiking boots or sneakers).
Weather cancellations are uncommon but possible year-round. We are unable to hike under certain weather advisories such as lightning, high-winds, severe storm, or fire conditions. Weather cancellations will be offered alternative scheduling or be refunded.
The altitude in Colorado affects everyone differently. Our hikes are doable for most people with minimal acclimatization and typically will not exceed 8000’ of elevation. Hydration before, during, and after physical activity is vital to avoiding altitude sickness. People with heart problems or serious medical conditions are not permitted to hike. Consult your physician with any questions or concerns.
What is the Cancellation Policy?
Weather cancellations will be offered alternative scheduling or be refunded.
A minimum number of hikers is required for Group Hikes. You will be notified the day before your hike and offered to reschedule or refunded if the group size is insufficient.
For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours in advance of the hike date.
What is provided and what should I bring?
We provide transportation from the Nurture facility to the trailhead, snacks, park admission (when necessary), and a fun experience. Snow spikes are also provided for winter hikes. We have some extra winter clothing to share in a pinch.
Bring plenty of water.
